European Network of Migrant Women is a feminist secular migrant-women led platform of NGOs and individual women that advocates for the rights, freedoms and dignity of migrant, refugee and ethnic minority women and girls in Europe. Our membership ranges from grassroots service providers to NGOs focused on advocacy and research. Our members cover a diverse range of subjects in the area of human rights of migrant & refugee women, with economic empowerment, anti-discrimination & access to justice, and combatting male violence against women and girls, being the most frequent activities.
WHY WE ARE HERE
We are here because we have to. If we, migrant women, ourselves do not advocate for our rights – no one will. This is why in August 2012 our network was formalised, with a registered office in Brussels. Since then we have been strengthening our political presence, our advocacy and our membership. We have executed projects and activities, organised events, seminar and workshops, published reports and position papers. Most importantly we have created a space for migrant, refugee and ethnic minority women and girls with the feminist vision to find each other, come together and find ground for collaborative work across our differences.
Our role in feminist and human rights movement
In the several years of work, the Network has reached considerable visibility at the EU level and has become a respected partner in the international and European arena of human rights, migration and integration, women’s rights and anti-discrimination.
