At the 65th Commission on the Status of Women, ENOMW took part in the parallel event organised by the International Coalition for the Abolition of Surrogate Motherhood (ICASM) in which we presented our views and analysis in relation to migrant and refugee women and the risks they face from the fast growing exploitative industry of surrogacy, in the context of unequal relationship between the Global North and the Global South and the migration flows and relationship between rich and poor countries. This webinar is a follow up to our ongoing work on the subject of surrogacy and migrant women and a part of a collaborative research between ENOMW and ICASM that aims to document the abuse and exploitation of migrant women through surrogacy and produce the recommendations to protect migrant and refugee women and girls from this form of violence against women.
